I'm a 4th year residential Ph.D. student in the dissertation proposal phase of my study.
Dissertation Topic: The Intersubjective Impact of a Traumatic Event: An Elaborative Grounded Theory Contributing to Interpersonal Theories of Development
Traumatic Event Under Study: Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
Phenomena Under Study: The extent to which the cancer event is a shared traumatic event -- something happening not only to the person diagnosed but also those around them.
I also have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Mills College with a focus on Child Development.
The focus of my work in ECE has been in working with infants and toddlers, typically developing as well as children diagnosed on the autism spectrum.
I am a member of the Association for Pre and Perinatal Psychology & Health as well as the Association for Transpersonal Psychology.
A few personal details: Born in Boston, raised in Massachusetts. Attended Mount Holyoke College undergrad. Moved to CA in 1993. Now living in Santa Cruz while I write my dissertation.
