About
My central research interest is the presence of the therapist as a variable in psychotherapy, particularly the transpersonal dimensions of presence. I am also interested in the professional development and education of therapists and the role of spirituality in fostering optimum performance. Another interest is Islamic philosophy, specifically the concept of "knowledge-by-presence." Finally, I am interested in exploring qualitative research methods, especially phenomenological and heuristic approaches, in which the state of the researcher is taken into consideration.
